I wanted to share an exciting opportunity for the upcoming academic year (July 2025 - June 2026). The University of Pittsburgh/UPMC is now accepting applications for a 1-year, fully funded Transplant Infectious Diseases Fellowship. This fellowship provides unique clinical and research experiences across diverse transplant and immunocompromised populations. Please pass along to your trainees!
Key highlights:
• Open to J1 visa applicants, in addition to H1B, permanent residents, and US citizens.
• Six non-consecutive months of rounding on our 3 inpatient transplant ID services:
• Cardiothoracic SOT ("above the diaphragm" transplants and patients with LVADs)
• Abdominal SOT ("below the diaphragm" transplants)
• Hematologic malignancy TID (leukemia, lymphoma, allogeneic [including cord blood] and autologous HCT, CAR-T-cell therapy recipients, myeloma)
• Weekly outpatient transplant ID clinic, rotating across our SOT TID, LVAD ID, and heme cancer ID clinics.
• Six months dedicated to a scholarly research project aligned with the fellow's career goals.
• Mentorship under 10 dedicated TID faculty.
• "TID bootcamp" lecture series provided by our TID faculty during the summer of the academic year-a crash course in essential TID topics.
• Trainees, regardless of visa status, do NOT do their own billing.
